2 Companies I really admire and Why

As perhaps the global leader in creating characters and brands that have transcended to icons as well as weathering through decades of market change, every person and every company can learn so much by following the past, present and future of the House of Mouse.

Twitch is an online live streaming platform where broadcasters can release and perform their content in real-time with viewer interaction live. I first found out of Twitch several years ago when I wanted to find a hobby that doesn't involve being the viewer but a content creator. Now as a live broadcaster, I consider Twitch as my second hobby, influencing many individuals around the world with my creative content and entertainment.

They have not only redefined digital marketing, but the internet itself and the everyday lives of the entire world. There are always lessons to learn from Google, both on and offline.

Let me tell you about ...

Setting the stage. I was the Project Manager for my company's Summer Intern Project and was responsible for 17 intercontinental interns in developing a client MVP.

The beginning. This was my first time leading a team for a real client and my design team, in addition to our Intern Project responsibilities, were was being pressured by their regular intern workload.

The middle. It was a trial by fire where I learned to finally delegate tasks and not take on all the responsibilities of a project by myself - learning to be more trusting. I also arranged meetings with the design team and their supervisors to develop a scheduling compromise that works for all parties that doesn't overload the design team.

The End. Thankfully the project MVP was developed on-time and on-budget.

Reflection. Through that trial by fire I learned leadership and communication skills in addition to experience in client and team delegation and compromise in order to best suite the needs of a project and the team.
